Students Studying Abroad, by a status reading
Wednesday, January 19th

Even though Covid is yet again closing doors on in-person events, the team at Rutgers Global will not let the latest variant put a damper on the Spring Study Abroad Fair, which is happening virtually on January 26 from 4:30-7:00 p.m. (ET). Through the magic of Zoom, students will have the opportunity to do some armchair traveling by talking with advisors, faculty, and partners to learn about the education abroad programs taking place all over the world. Browse here to learn more. Of special note is our Access the World program, which offer a range of semester programs across the globe at or below the cost of a semester at Rutgers. Yes, you read that right—you can study abroad for the same or less than studying here at Rutgers!

One silver lining to the shift to online is that we will be joined by even more of our international partners at the event who weren’t able to join us in person. Students will have the opportunity to learn about programs led by Rutgers faculty, as well as programs that take place with our partner institutions, like John Cabot University in Rome, Italy, Ewha University in Seoul, South Korea, and University College in London, England, as well as many others.

One way to is to learn more about the student perspective is to check out the videos posted by our Rutgers Global Study Abroad Media team on TikTok and Instagram. These videos were created by our students last semester while they were in their study abroad programs and give a sense of their day-to-day experiences, from being in the classroom to shopping to day trips to learning the culture.

The Spring Study Abroad Fair is the best place to learn about all the global education opportunities that await you as a Rutgers student. In addition to our faculty and partner advisors, there will also be staff at the fair who can talk to you about curriculum mapping to make sure your credits abroad count toward your degree. Financial advisors will be on hand, as well, and they can guide you on scholarships, financial aid, and basic budgeting and planning for studying abroad. Did you know that Rutgers offers many scholarships for students studying abroad? Be sure to visit this page to learn more.

In addition, we are offering plenty of raffles and giveaways both on our social media and during the Study Abroad Fair. You can win prizes such as Rutgers Global tote bags, fleece jackets, as well as study abroad scholarships. Be sure to follow Rutgers Global on Instagram and TikTok to learn more.

As our mission states: Rutgers Global–Study Abroad seeks to ensure that every Rutgers student has access to opportunities for global learning which are academically rigorous, degree-relevant, culturally transformative, and empower students for impact in local and global communities. It’s your time! Join us at the Spring Study Abroad Fair on January 26, from 4:30-7:00 p.m.

Please note: Spring Study Abroad programming is currently operating as planned with close adherence to health and travel restrictions. The safety and well-being of Rutgers students abroad is Rutgers Global's top priority. Once admitted to a study abroad program, we provide students with in-depth information on program location, instructions for how to prepare for a program and its locale, and tips and suggestions for how to remain safe and healthy throughout the study abroad experience abroad.
