How we collect data:
International Students and Scholars: International student data reflects the annual Institute of International Education (IIE) Open Doors International Student survey and includes the total number of international students enrolled at Rutgers in the previous fall semester (currently showing Fall 2023 data). It does not include students who are on an approved post-completion Optional Practical Training work authorization period but remain under Rutgers visa sponsorship.
Note that this data does not include international students or scholars with green cards or those who have become U.S. citizens. For further reports on international student and scholar data at Rutgers, visit our Data Hub.
Study Abroad Programs: The data on study abroad programs is compiled from our Terra Dotta database and a current view of programs. For more information on Rutgers Global Study Abroad programs at Rutgers-New Brunswick, browse our Program Search webpages. Learn more about study abroad programs at Rutgers-Newark and Rutgers-Camden.
Partners: The data on our partners represents the institutions with which Rutgers currently has an active formal agreement, not necessarily informal faculty agreements or research partnerships. For more information on specific agreements Rutgers has with international partners, visit our Rutgers International Agreements Database.
Publications: This data represents publications between Rutgers and co-authors based at non-U.S. institutions from the past five years and is compiled from Clarivate's Web of Science database.
