Shenzhen
Shenzhen is located in the southern part of Guangdong Province neighboring Hong Kong. Since it became the first Special Economic Zone in 1980, Shenzhen has rapidly grown into a modern city with newest technologies. The city has attracted many young talents from different parts of China as well as investments from different countries. It is often described as Silicon Valley of China - the headquarters for Huawei, Foxconn, Tencent, ZTE and many more! The modern city of Shenzhen also offers arts and cultural activities all year round and is among the greenest cities in China.
Academics
CUHK-Shenzhen provides a variety of programs across 5 schools and 15+ programmes (majors) that students can choose from. Students can take a variety of courses across all 5 schools: the School of Management and Economics (SME), the School of Science and Engineering (SSE), the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS), the School of Life and Health Sciences (LHS), and the School of Data Science. Courses range from: Finance, Global Business Studies, Marketing and Communication, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronic Information Engineering, New Energy Science and Engineering, Bioinformatics, and Translation. In order to have an idea of what classes are available, you should visit the CUHK-Shenzhen OneDrive.
You will need to be sure that you are registered as a full time student according to CUHK – Shenzhen and Rutgers University. That means you will need to take approximately 12-15 credits while abroad. It is not possible to take classes as not-for-credit or pass/fail.

Housing and Meals
On-campus housing is not guaranteed at this time. Students will be responsible for securing their own off-campus housing. Some housing recommendations of communities nearby that students can consider reserving a spot for themself, include but are not limited to:
