On Wednesday, February 3, 2016, Rutgers Global–Study Abroad hosted its annual Spring 2016 Study Abroad Fair to showcase the short-term and summer study abroad and service-learning abroad options for students.

More than 30 faculty directors exhibited their programs to over 100 student fair attendees, while Rutgers Global staff advised on logistical elements of study abroad: transportation, lodging, and scholarship opportunities.

Russian and east European languages instructor Cori Anderson leads a summer program St. Petersburg that exposes her students to Russian culture and gives her students the context and opportunity to understand what they've learned in the classroom. Anderson promoted her program, Russian Language and Culture Studies, at the fair.

“Studying abroad was one of the most important experiences of my undergraduate career, and I am so impressed with the range of offerings here at Rutgers,” Anderson said. “There’s something for everyone! Surveys have shown that students who study abroad have a leg up on the job market, and will have higher scores of creativity and problem solving.”

The centers held a raffle which awarded prizes like application fee waivers, promotional giveaways, and even two $500 study abroad scholarships to students Jennifer Noji and Mara Kettle.
