Global Programming & Events serves the needs of the Rutgers community by offering insightful and welcoming events ​and initiatives that support cultural engagement and global education. Programs range from orientations to fairs to themed events to our signature monthly program, Friendship Fridays. See below for the upcoming semester of events.

September 18: Rutgers Global Tie-Dye

Location: College Avenue Student Center - Morrell Street 

Stop by the College Avenue Student Center for some tie dye fun!  After picking up your free t-shirt, take it to one of the coloring stations and decorate it to your liking.  All supplies will be provided.  Come early for the best selection of sizes and colors.

Welcome back to campus! Our first Friendship Friday of the school year is a social to help you meet other students.  There will be plenty of food on hand to enjoy as you mix and mingle with others.

October 1: Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest is an annual festival that celebrates German culture.  Join us for a short presentation on the background of this celebration and then stay for some German food, music, and socializing.

This month's Friendship Friday is taking place during Homecoming weekend. You can expect there to be lots of football-inspired party foods and activities.

October 30: Global Ghouls Gala

Have you ever heard of Yokai?  Or have you ever decorated a sugar skull for Dia de Los Muertos?  Come celebrate Halloween the international way at the Global Ghouls Gala!  Stop by to take part in games and activities that highlight spirits, monsters, and other supernatural beings from around the world. Feel free to come in costume and, of course, there will be lots of Halloween candy to enjoy.

Our annual global food discussion series is back with a sweet treat! Dr. Mark Robson will deliver a presentation on cocoa before different chocolate-inspired desserts from across the globe are sampled.  

Registration on getINVOLVED is required as space to this event is limited.
