Global Programming & Events serves the needs of the Rutgers community by offering insightful and welcoming events and initiatives that support cultural engagement and global education. Programs range from orientations to fairs to themed events to our signature monthly program, Friendship Fridays. See below for the upcoming semester of events.

August 26-28: International Student Orientation
Location: Jersey Mike's Arena (Welcome Event)
Open to graduate and undergraduate international first-year and transfer students at Rutgers-New Brunswick.For more details, visit global.rutgers.edu/ISO.
September 18: Rutgers Global Tie-Dye
Location: College Avenue Student Center - Morrell Street
Stop by the College Avenue Student Center for some tie dye fun! After picking up your free t-shirt, take it to one of the coloring stations and decorate it to your liking. All supplies will be provided. Come early for the best selection of sizes and colors.
September 20: Friendship Fridays
Location: Busch Student Center - The Cove
Join us for this monthly "pop-up lounge" open to all Rutgers students and scholars from 4:00-5:00 p.m. on Fridays. Enjoy games, activities, conversation, and snacks--and make new friends from around the world! #FriendshipFridays
Welcome back to campus! Our first Friendship Friday of the school year is a social to help you meet other students. There will be plenty of food on hand to enjoy as you mix and mingle with others.
September 24: Fall 2024 Study Abroad Fair
Location: Livingston Student Center, MPR

October 1: Oktoberfest
Location: Livingston Hall - LSC
Oktoberfest is an annual festival that celebrates German culture. Join us for a short presentation on the background of this celebration and then stay for some German food, music, and socializing.
October 18: Friendship Fridays

This month's Friendship Friday is taking place during Homecoming weekend. You can expect there to be lots of football-inspired party foods and activities.
October 25 - Fall Day Trip
Open to international students/scholars and exchange students. More details to be announced.
October 30: Global Ghouls Gala
Location: College Avenue Student Center - MPR
Have you ever heard of Yokai? Or have you ever decorated a sugar skull for Dia de Los Muertos? Come celebrate Halloween the international way at the Global Ghouls Gala! Stop by to take part in games and activities that highlight spirits, monsters, and other supernatural beings from around the world. Feel free to come in costume and, of course, there will be lots of Halloween candy to enjoy.
November 8: Friendship Fridays

November 19 - Chocolate Around the World

Our annual global food discussion series is back with a sweet treat! Dr. Mark Robson will deliver a presentation on cocoa before different chocolate-inspired desserts from across the globe are sampled.

Join us for our annual Chocolate and Coloring event. With the stress of finals and the holidays on the horizon, take a little time for yourself. We will have coloring pages and chocolate snacks for you to enjoy. Or just stop by for the socializing.
