Thursday, December 13 | 7:30 p.m. | College Avenue Student Center
This lecture is the Ruth and Alvin Rockoff Annual Program sponsored by the Allen and Joan Bildner Center for the Study of Jewish Life.

Speaker: Yehuda Kurtzer, President, Shalom Hartman Institute of North America

The relationship between American Jews and Israel, whose closeness and alignment characterized much of the 20th century, is on uncertain ground. Denominational and partisan divides, the demise of the agreement on access to the Western Wall, and public spats between Israeli officials and American Jewish leaders are examples of the growing tensions between the two communities. Dr. Kurtzer will analyze the present juncture and suggest some ways the complex relationship could evolve.

This event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP here or by emailing rsvpBildner@sas.rutgers.edu.
