International Student Welcome
9:00am – 10:30am           College Ave Gym

Join us in welcoming and celebrating the new class of international students at Rutgers. Students will receive their orientation materials, meet other international students, and hear a welcome address and introductions by Christopher J. Molloy, Chancellor of Rutgers University – New Brunswick, Eric Garfunkel, vice president of Rutgers Global; and Urmi Otiv, director of Rutgers Global – International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) along with the ISSS staff.

Parent Orientation Check-in and Registration
10:00am – 11:00am         College Ave Gym

Find the Parent Orientation Check-in and Registration table in the College Ave Gym and receive special materials and instructions for the orientation program.

Resource Fair
10:00am – 11:00am       College Ave Gym

After you have completed checking in for the parent program, visit the resource fair and meet various Rutgers academic and student affairs units to learn about the multitude of resources and services Rutgers offers to your student.

Campus Bus Tour           Meet in front of College Ave Gym
11:15am – 12:00pm
Meet in front of the College Ave Gym and tour the historic Rutgers- New Brunswick campus with experienced guides!

Lunch                  Rutgers Club, Livingston Campus
12:00pm – 1:30pm         College Ave Gym

The campus bus tour will bring you to the Livingston Campus. Enjoy a delicious lunch hosted by Rutgers University Foundation. Meet faculty, staff, and chat with fellow parents.

1:30pm – 1:45pm           Board the campus bus to return from Livingston Campus to College Avenue Campus.

Parent Welcome

Opening addresses from senior leaders at Rutgers Global – International Student and Scholar Services, and the Office of New Student Orientation and Family Programs. Learn about how to best partner alongside Rutgers in supporting your student’s academic and social success.

Student Legal Status- Rights and Responsibilities

Overview of legal obligations of international students in F-1/J-1 status including study, work, and travel.

Paying Student Bills
2:35pm – 2:55pm           Academic Building, Room 1180

Information about bill-paying procedures, billing cycles, payment-plans, late charges, and other billing matters.

The Residential Experience at Rutgers
3:00pm – 3:15pm           Academic Building, Room 1180

Information and resources related to on-campus living from the Office of Residence Life including living with roommates, where to go when a student needs help or has questions, and timelines for applying for on-campus housing.

Tea/Coffee Break

Health and Wellness

Student health related resources and how to help your student to stay healthy while studying at Rutgers.

Health Insurance

Information about the Rutgers health insurance plan including the plan coverage, benefits, selecting a healthcare provider, and more.

Safety on Campus
4:15pm – 4:35pm           Academic Building, Room 1180

Presented by Rutgers University Police Department, learn about the role of university police, campus safety, and resources and services for students.

Dinner
5:00pm                             The Yard, College Ave

Join us for a Rutgers-themed celebration filled with food, games, and a chance to socialize with fellow family members, new students and University administrators! Be sure to bring your meal voucher with you.
