The Paul Robeson Cultural Center's Black Mentoring Circle program provides a space where students participate in guided educational discourse, leadership development, and out of the classroom engagement. Held monthly, they cover a variety of rotating topics relevant to the black student experience.

April’s topic is Black & Abroad. Paul Robeson was a true humanitarian that crisscrossed the globe, spoke over a dozen languages, and spoke truth not only to systemically racist power structures, but to any system that wielded power for the marginalization and oppression of others. The fruit of global history, for better or worse, still exists today, and we all live in a rapidly changing world.

Follow in Robeson’s footsteps and join us for a conversation navigating the various factors that affect what it means to be Black & Abroad. Speakers will discuss the transformative experiences of studying, traveling, and living abroad, as well as offer strategies and resources for addressing the challenges and potential biases that shape those experiences.

The April edition of B.L.A.C.K. Mentoring Circle is a collaboration between the Paul Robeson Cultural Center and Rutgers Global
