Studying abroad at the American College of Thessaloniki during the spring semester of 2023 was an incredibly positive experience, so much so that I decided to return for a second term the following year. The small class sizes and a campus that was remarkably easy to navigate enhanced my time there. The close-knit academic community fostered meaningful interactions with both fellow study abroad students and regular students. Outside the classroom, I enjoyed playing volleyball with peers from diverse backgrounds, which was a great way to bond and stay active. One of the highlights of my time there was enrolling in a sailing course elective, which not only provided practical sailing skills but also led to earning a sailing license—a unique and memorable achievement.

The university's organization of trips added another layer of excitement to my experience, with a particularly memorable weekend spent exploring the beautiful city of Athens. Additionally, the various service learning opportunities available allowed me to engage deeply with the local community. I volunteered weekly at a local church, where I helped prepare meals for the less fortunate, an experience that was both humbling and rewarding. Thessaloniki's vibrant nightlife, situated in the Ladadika district, was another highlight, offering a dynamic atmosphere that was always alive with energy. Overall, my time at the American College of Thessaloniki was marked by academic growth, memorable adventures, and meaningful community service. I felt very welcomed and appreciated, and I will never forget the profound impact it had on my personal development.
