Presley Albadine, Rutgers-Camden Fulbright Scholar

Passions have long driven senior Presley Albadine—whether it’s been through dance, public service, or her leadership roles at Rutgers–Camden. After graduation, the Gloucester County native and newly minted Fulbright scholar will leverage many of those pursuits internationally, capping an undergraduate journey packed with academic honors and campus involvement. Albadine, who majored in psychology and childhood studies, will travel to Paraguay next year to serve as an English Teaching Assistant through a Fulbright Scholarship.

Rutgers University-New Brunswick once again has been named a top producer for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, with 11 undergraduate and recent graduates receiving the grants in the 2025-2026 academic year. “Our students’ ongoing success in earning Fulbright grants illustrates once again the Rutgers edge,” said Rutgers President William F. Tate IV. “Again and again their grit and perseverance are matched by exceptional intellect and curiosity.”  

Sarita Monjane Henriksen

When linguist Sarita Monjane Henriksen arrived on campus as a Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence, she was struck by the similarities between Rutgers-Newark and her homeland of Mozambique.  

“I’ve been describing Mozambique as the most linguistically and culturally diverse place. But nothing had prepared me for what I’ve seen here,’’ said Henriksen, a professor at Universidade Pedagógica de Maputo in Mozambique.  

Moustapha Diallo, Fulbright Student, 3 photos

Thierno Moustapha Diallo, a Fulbright Rutgers Health student originally from Guinea, received his Master of Public Health (MPH) in Global Public Health from the Rutgers School of Public Health in the spring and was granted the 2025 Stanley S. Bergen Medal of Excellence Award, the school’s highest student honor. As the Bergen awardee, he also delivered the graduate keynote address at the school’s 2025 Convocation ceremony. Additionally, Diallo was also the recipient of the 2025 Bernard D. Goldstein Award for Global Public Health, which recognizes exceptional academic achievement among masters-level Rutgers School of Public Health students in their concentration. 

Karen Wei-Ru Lin, Global Health Fair

The U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board announced that Karen Wei-Ru Lin, M.D., of the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School has received a Fulbright Specialist Program award. Dr. Lin will complete a project at Kobe University in Japan that aims to exchange knowledge and establish partnerships benefiting participants, institutions, and communities both in the U.S. and overseas through a variety of educational and training activities within Public/Global Health. 

6 Rutgers Faculty Receive Fulbrights, Rutgers Top Producer

Rutgers University–New Brunswick has earned recognition as a top producer of Fulbright U.S. Scholars by the U.S. Department of State, securing its place among the nation’s elite institutions for faculty and administrators selected for the program.

Six scholars from Rutgers–New Brunswick have been awarded Fulbright grants for the 2024-2025 academic year for a range of projects throughout the world, as announced by the State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs on February 25.
