For as long as I can remember, I’ve always dreamed of studying abroad. I had heard from friends who had studied abroad that it was the greatest experience, yet the thought of being away from family for so long made me anxious. On top of that, studying computer science posed a challenge in finding schools abroad that offered the specific courses I needed. After hours of research, I discovered University College Dublin (UCD), which I soon realized had an outstanding science program. Coincidentally, Dublin had always been high on my list of places to visit, making it feel like the stars were aligning. Nervously, I scrolled through UCD's Instagram, trying to imagine if Ireland could truly become a second home for me. After much contemplation, I finally decided to take the leap, and I can confidently say that studying in Ireland was the best decision I’ve ever made. And I don’t say that lightly!
Not only did I immerse myself in a vibrant and diverse culture, but I also discovered so much about myself in the process. Living independently taught me invaluable life lessons that I might never have learned otherwise. I formed lifelong friendships—now I have the perfect excuse to return to Dublin! Studying abroad in Ireland helped me grow in ways I hadn’t expected. It wasn’t just about academic learning, but also about personal, mental, and physical growth. I am immensely grateful for the opportunity, and now I find myself enthusiastically encouraging everyone I know to study abroad. It was an experience that shaped me in ways I’ll carry with me forever.
