Rutgers Global is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2026 Rutgers Global Grants. These grants are intended to support faculty international engagement by helping initiate engagement and collaborative research, international partnerships, and new educational initiatives. The modest seed grants are offered for full-time Rutgers faculty from all campuses, including tenured, tenure-track, and clinical faculty. This year, there were four categories of grants: (1) Global Health, in collaboration with the Rutgers Global Health Institute, (2) International Collaborative Research, (3) Faculty-Led Study Abroad, and, new this year, (4) Korea University-Rutgers University co-funded Collaborative Research. 

Rahul Mittal

Rahul Mittal, assistant professor in the Department of Health Informatics at Rutgers School of Health Professions, is harnessing the power of international collaboration to support health and social care in underserved communities abroad. Awarded a 2024 Rutgers Global Grant for International Collaborative Research, Dr. Mittal is leading a project in Cornwall, United Kingdom, titled “Taxonomy of the Voluntary Sector in Cornwall.” 

Karen Wei-Ru Lin, Global Health Fair

The U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board announced that Karen Wei-Ru Lin, M.D., of the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School has received a Fulbright Specialist Program award. Dr. Lin will complete a project at Kobe University in Japan that aims to exchange knowledge and establish partnerships benefiting participants, institutions, and communities both in the U.S. and overseas through a variety of educational and training activities within Public/Global Health. 

6 Rutgers Faculty Receive Fulbrights, Rutgers Top Producer

Rutgers University–New Brunswick has earned recognition as a top producer of Fulbright U.S. Scholars by the U.S. Department of State, securing its place among the nation’s elite institutions for faculty and administrators selected for the program.

Six scholars from Rutgers–New Brunswick have been awarded Fulbright grants for the 2024-2025 academic year for a range of projects throughout the world, as announced by the State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs on February 25.
