Calling all Rutgers students: are you ready to start planning for your study abroad adventure? Join Rutgers Global at our Spring Study Abroad Fair to learn about our more than 130 programs located all around the world—there is truly something for everyone. The Fair will take place on April 19, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Morrell Street next to the College Avenue Student Center on the New Brunswick campus.
Did you know that Rutgers has study abroad programs in more than 50 countries? A highlight for this year is our new Access Africa initiative that will provide significant financial support to undergraduate students who participate in a study abroad program in Africa. Visit this link to learn about programs in Ghana, Kenya, Senegal, Benin, South Africa, and Tanzania.
Another great option for Rutgers students is our Access the World initiative, which offers 30+ semester programs across the globe at or below the cost of a semester at Rutgers. That’s right. At Rutgers, we believe in access and affordability, and these programs offer amazing opportunities.
No passport? No problem with our new Passport to the World initiative that covers the costs of applying for a first-time U.S. passport at a local post office. This initiative is open to all enrolled Rutgers students (including Newark, Camden, RBHS, and New Brunswick) who are U.S. citizens and have never received an adult U.S. passport. For more information about how to apply, visit this page.
Maybe you like to hear directly from other students about the experience? Check out the videos posted by our Rutgers Global Study Abroad Media team—students who create videos about their experiences while abroad--on TikTok and Instagram. These videos provide a sense of day-to-day experiences, from being in the classroom, to dining in local restaurants, to day excursions, to learning the language and culture.
In addition to our faculty and partner advisors who will be on hand during the Study Abroad Spring Fair, there will also be Study Abroad staff at the fair who can help students navigate the course selection process to make sure credits abroad count toward their degrees. Get a jump start by browsing our programs here on our website and keep in mind some key deadlines:
- December 1 for Spring embedded programs
- March 1 for Summer, Fall, and academic year programs
- October 1 for Winter and Spring programs
Students should check our website because some of our programs may have earlier deadlines and rolling admissions.
Got money on your mind? Financial advisors will be at the Fair offering advice on scholarships, financial aid, and basic budgeting and planning for studying abroad. Rutgers offers many Study Abroad Scholarships for students--be sure to visit this page to learn more.
Last, don’t forget that there will be delicious food, music, and plenty of giveaways and prizes during the Study Abroad Fair, including swag and study abroad scholarships.
