This summer, Rutgers Global and the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy (EMSOP) launched a new short-term program for international students on the Rutgers-New Brunswick campus. The Rutgers Pharmacy Summer Program ran from July 5 through July 19 and welcomed 31 undergraduate and graduate pharmacy students from South Korea. The students hailed from Dongguk University, Ewha Womans University, Seoul National University, and Sungkyunkwan University. The goal of the two-week residential program was to introduce students to pharmacy education, clinical practice, biomedical research, and pharmaceutical career pathways in the United States.

Rutgers University is pleased to announce that ten faculty and staff have received Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program awards in a range of fields and in a variety of countries for the 2026-2027 academic year. The Fulbright Program is the U.S. government’s flagship international academic exchange program, founded in 1946 with an ambitious goal: to increase mutual understanding and support friendly and peaceful relations between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. Since its inception, nearly 450,000 individuals have participated in the Fulbright Program.

A delegation from Rutgers University traveled to India and China to conduct in-person pre-departure orientations (PDO) with newly admitted undergraduate students and their families in June. The PDOs are spearheaded by Rutgers Global and serve to introduce a new class of Rutgers international students to the academic support services available just for them. The Rutgers team leading the orientation was comprised of leadership from Rutgers Global, and the School of Engineering, School for Environmental and Biological Sciences, School of Arts and Sciences at Rutgers-New Brunswick, and Rutgers Business School. The events were held in Delhi, Mumbai, Beijing and Shanghai.
