Rutgers students will have the opportunity to explore the world this fall as Rutgers Global hosts its annual Study Abroad Fall Fair on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the Livingston Student Center. The event, running from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., will showcase the wide range of international programs available to both undergraduate and graduate students. This year’s fair comes at a time of strong renewed interest in global education. In 2024–25, more than 1,000 Rutgers students studied abroad, the highest participation in recent years, reflecting a growing enthusiasm for international experiences following the pandemic-era slowdown.
Rutgers University proudly welcomed over 1,200 new international students this fall during its three-day International Student Orientation (ISO), held August 25–27, 2025, at Jersey Mike’s Arena and across campus. Nearly 150 parents and family members also attended, many of whom first connected with Rutgers through admitted student events and pre-departure programs hosted this summer in India and China.

Rutgers Global seeks to ensure that every Rutgers student has access to opportunities for global learning which are academically rigorous, degree-relevant, culturally transformative, and empower students for impact in local and global communities.
Study Abroad is not just for some students; it's for all students, no matter your background, your major, your hobbies, or your preferences. Check out this step-by-step guide to studying abroad at Rutgers.
Whether the goal is to offer students a hands-on experience with critical global topics discussed in the classroom, immerse them in a language or culture, or show them how others solve problems or build communities, our staff can help make that opportunity a reality.
Once admitted to a study abroad program, we provide students with in-depth information on program location, instructions for how to prepare for a program and its locale, and tips and suggestions for how to remain safe and healthy throughout the experience abroad.
