Bratislava

Bratislava is the political, cultural and economic centre of Slovakia. It is the seat of the Slovak president, the parliament, and the Slovak Executive. It has several universities, and many museums, theatres, galleries, and other cultural and educational institutions.

Academics

Rutgers University is partnering with the University of Pittsburgh. Students who have completed a full academic year's equivalent of Slovak language study are eligible to apply to this abroad program. In Bratislava, students pursue intensive proficiency-based language learning in the classroom and while engaged in an extensive excursion program to points of interest in Bratislava and its surroundings and travel throughout the regions of Slovakia. Participants in this program study together with students enrolled in the 10-week Pittsburgh+Slovakia program. As this program requires a minimum proficiency in Slovak, an interview may be requested as a part of the application procedure in addition to the application form found at the link below.https://www.sli.pitt.edu/polish-abroad

Students participate in an extensive excursion program in and around Bratislava and other parts of Slovakia.

The above costs are estimations and represent the known out-of-pocket costs students encounter during their time abroad.

Some of these expenses will be paid for prior to going abroad, such as an airline ticket, while some of these expenses, such as meals and personal expenses, will be paid in-country as part of your daily expenses. As you plan, you will need to budget these costs and spend wisely throughout your time abroad.
