The Republic of Singapore, is an island country and city-state Southeast Asia. With a multicultural population,Singapore has four official languages: English, Malay, Mandarin, and Tamil. Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is one of Singapore's two major national universities. Founded in 1981, NTU is frequently ranked within the world's top 30 universities according to most major international rankings, and is widely-considered to be one of the two most prestigious universities in Singapore.The primary campus grounds are located in the western part of Singapore.

NTU's unique summer programme will bring you an unforgettable summer education.  Choose from 5 different tracks and experience a unique summer unlike any other!

The GEM Trailblazer Summer 2024 programme offers more than 20 courses across 5 tracks.  From experiencing a full Asian cultural experience to opportunities in enhancing your future business career in Asia and staying abreast with the latest technology in 3D Printing!

Courses shall be entirely taught in English except the language courses. Each intensive course under Track 1, 3, 4 and 5 has a total teaching load of 39 to 52 hours conducted over four weeks. Housing and Meals

NTU has a total of 24 Halls of Residence on campus, housing some 10,200 undergraduates at any one time. They are similarly styled accommodation and are co-ed by floor or wing. Students are required to stay on-campus. 

Summer students shall be housed on campus based on double occupancy at the following rates, based on the duration of their summer programme. While there are no meal plans available and no fully equipped kitchen at the hall for students to cook their meals, students can purchase economically-priced meals at any of the Hall of Residence canteens, convenience stores or food outlets located within NTU. Self-selection and changing of rooms are not allowed. Room-mates of the same gender are randomly allocated. 

 Check-ins at the Hall of Residences are strictly from Mon to Fri, 9:00am to 5:00pm only. Students who are arriving earlier or later then the stipulated check-in timing are required to source for temporary off-campus housing.

  • 4-week programme – check in on 26 June 2024

  • 2-week programme – check in on 26 June or 10 July 2024

Scholarships

Available to all Rutgers students participating in a Rutgers Global–Study Abroad program. Applications can be found inside of your study abroad program application. For more information, please visit the Scholarship section of our website.

Available to study abroad students who receive a Pell Grant.  For more information about the scholarship and additional eligibility requirements please visit the Gilman website.

Rutgers Global – Global Initiatives Study Abroad Scholarship will be given on a competitive basis to qualified students whose financial needs are not being met by other funding. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of the overall strength of the application (especially the cover letter), academic record, and financial need. The award can be used to defray eligible study or intern abroad costs. These costs include program tuition, room and board, books, local transportation, insurance, and international airfare.

Upon returning to Rutgers, Scholars are expected to promote study abroad through classroom presentations, study abroad fairs, or information sessions.
