Explore the topic of Wrongful Conviction in London. This four-week, accelerated summer program provides students with the opportunity to study human rights and focus on the specific area of wrongful conviction. This program is composed of two courses and includes opportunities to observe trials and visit London-based organizations working in human rights and on behalf of the wrongfully accused.

This 4-week program will be hosted in the CEA CAPA London Center. The CEA CAPA London Center is centrally located in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, close to public transport, Kensington Palace, the Natural History Museum, Victoria and Albert Museums. Housed in two connected Victorian townhouses, the Center offers multiple classroom spaces and features state of-the-art technology.
Academics
CEA CAPA courses and programs are rigorous and run in strict adherence to the Forum on Education Abroad’s Standards of Good Practice. The programs are designed to support student’s personal and professional development while exploring and analyzing urban environments abroad, through in-classroom study and out-of-classroom experiences. Courses taught at the CEA CAPA London Center have been designed in conjunction with, and approved by, the University of New Haven (UNH). The maximum class size is 25 students, and most classes range from 10-18 students.
This is a short-term accelerated program composed of two courses on Human Rights and Wrongful Conviction, worth 3 credits each. Study fact investigation and research, observe trials, and visit London-based organizations working on behalf of the wrongfully accused. Earn 6 credits.
CEA CAPA Center courses meet Monday through Thursday.
The courses offered are:
Human Rights in A Global Context (300 level, 3 credits)
Wrongful Convictions (300 level, 3 credits)
The courses will count as electives for Criminal Justice and Justice Studies majors and minors.
Housing and Meals
Student housing will be arranged by CEA CAPA. Housing options in the past have included apartments, residence halls or homestay. Housing options may change and will be confirmed on the housing application form prior to the start of the term.

Some of these expenses will be paid for prior to going abroad, such as an airline ticket, while some of these expenses, such as meals and personal expenses, will be paid in-country as part of your daily expenses. As you plan, you will need to budget these costs and spend wisely throughout your time abroad.
