The Program
With over 105 nationalities represented on campus, AUD truly is a globalized and diverse international institution of higher education.
Students on this program will have the opportunity to directly enroll at American University in Dubai. With ABET, AACSB, NAAB and numerous other accreditations, AUD's many schools and departments allow students from a wide variety of academic majors to engage their disciplines with professors and peers from around the world in a MENA region context. The American University in Dubai is patterned on the American model of higher education and classes are taught in English.

Dubai is the second largest of the seven Emirates which make up the U.A.E., located on the southern shore of the Arabian Gulf. The capital of the U.A.E. is Abu Dhabi. With a total area spanning 3,900 sq.km, Dubai is a popular tourist destination and thriving business hub, with prestigious firms such as Sony, Reuters, CNN, Microsoft, Oracle and IBM located on the doorstep of the AUD campus in Dubai Media City and Dubai Internet City. Arabic is the official language while English and Urdu are commonly spoken and understood.
Academics
There are 6 Undergraduate schools which offer a wide range of academic and certificate programs at American University in Dubai (AUD). These include: Business Administration, Engineering, Communication, Arts & Sciences, Architecture, Art & Design, and Education. All courses are taught in English, with the exception of language classes. Certificate in Middle Eastern Studies

You will need to be sure that you are registered as a full time student according to AUD and Rutgers University. That means you will need to take approximately 12-17 credits while abroad. The credit translation system between the AUD and Rutgers University is 1:1, meaning a 3-credit course at AUD will also be a 3-credit course on your Rutgers University transcript. It is not possible to take classes as not-for-credit or pass/fail.

Housing
International students are placed in on-campus residence halls. With over 100 nationalities on campus, many of our international students find themselves moving away from their families for the very first time. Living on campus at AUD can provide a unique experience and opportunity for personal growth, allowing you to fully experience the non-stop buzz of university life.
The Residence Halls are a safe, well-maintained living and learning environment, designed to establish a sense of community, couples with responsible, independent and shared living. There are lots of on campus dining options, from the AUD cafeteria featuring live cooking and international cuisine, to the Starbucks and AUD's Mini Mart, to Delicious Bites (traditional Italian cuisine) and Soft Damage (AUD's Ice cream and dessert shop)!
