Customized non-degree programs for international students
Rutgers offers customized programs for high school and university students in various disciplines, including but not limited to Philosophy, Computer Science, Robotics, AI technology, Human Resource Management, Chemistry, and United Nations studies.
- Summer and Winter programs: 2-4 weeks
- Semester-long programs: 1-2 semesters
- Cohort size is 10-50 students

Program Components:
Academic
Lectures, workshops, panel discussions, experiential learning, lab projects, and more.
Immersive Campus Experience
Interactions with Rutgers faculty and students through student events. Access to dorms, dining halls, classrooms, libraries, gyms, and other facilities.
Cultural Enrichment
Co- and extra-curricular activities, visits to nearby cities, tours, and field trips.
Programs for international faculty and professionals
There is a wide range of programs for faculty and professionals at Rutgers, including Faculty training for Teaching English as Academic Language; University and K-12 Administrators' Professional Development programs; and other customized professional certificate training programs for various occupations.

Engage with global industry leaders and peers, expand professional network, gain insights into industry trends and practices, and foster collaborations and partnerships.

Visits to Fortune 500 enterprises, world-renowned institutions, and global organizations.
Current Programs

For summer/winter visiting college students:
This program is designed for international undergraduate and above students to experience discipline knowledge and American culture, familiarize themselves with the American education system, and enhance their English language skills. Proof of English language proficiency is not required; however, it is recommended that students have intermediate to advanced English language skills.
A typical program will include:
- 30%-40% Academic lectures led by Rutgers Faculty
- 20%-30% Experiential learning activities via laboratory, project, case study, etc.
- 15%-25% Academic English and American cultural enrichment
- 15%-25% Trips and excursions
For high school students:
To cultivate global competency among younger students, this program is designed around two thematic components: United Nations Studies and U.S. University Preparation.
The UN Studies component includes visits to the United Nations Headquarters, meetings with UN officers, and briefings on global issues and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The U.S. University Preparation features pre-college academic classes, international student application seminars, English writing workshops and immersive campus experience at Rutgers university community.
For semester visiting students:
The duration of visiting study program usually lasts from 3 to 6 months. Based on the visiting purpose and study fields, the program can be tailored with following options:
Academic Experience:

Research: Visiting students will conduct research under the supervision of Rutgers faculty member(s).

Class immersion: Each student will register for course work at Rutgers with the option of for credit or non-credit.

Academic English: Students can opt to take a supplementary English course to develop their academic English skills.
Campus Access:

Rutgers Student ID: Enable students with access to campus facilities and online resources.

On campus Accommodations: On-campus housing and meal plans will be available for selection during program registration.

Study/Office Space: A dedicated study or office space will be provided.

Health and Wellness: Health and medical services are accessible with valid international student insurance.
