Qizhong Guo is a widely recognized water resources engineer. His specialty and research areas are hydraulics and hydrology, urban storm water and flood management, water environment protection and restoration, and green and sustainable water infrastructure.

Jing Li
Distinguished Professor, Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology
School of Arts and Sciences

Inspired by the prevalence of contamination in developing countries and in the United States, Jing Li is leading a research effort that is looking to sanitize unclean water by finding recyclable crystalline materials that can bind to and trap toxins and heavy metals in water.   

Samantha Winter

As part of a Boren fellowship, Samantha Winter is living and working in Nairobi, Kenya, to carry out her research on women’s sanitation culture in informal settlements in the area.
