United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

In 2014, 193 countries United Nations member countries convened to develop a set of 17 worldwide priorities, or the Sustainable Development Goals for 2030, designed to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all. Rutgers faculty, staff, administrators, students, and alumni are working on many global initiatives, conducting research projects, or offering educational or service opportunities related to one or more of the 17 goals.

In 2015, 193 United Nations member countries adopted a new sustainable development agenda and global agreement on climate change. Now, at the dawn of 2016, we're presented with an unprecedented opportunity to bring the world together to improve the lives of people everywhere through the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to improve our world.
