Why Study Abroad?
When it comes to employability in the interconnected world of the 21st century, students who land rewarding jobs in their desired fields often report that a global experience helped them to edge out the competition.
Many students who study abroad find themselves—for the first time—completely responsible for their schedules, their transportation, and their finances in a new environment where language and culture are different. Students routinely return from study abroad with a new sense of maturity, broadened perspectives about themselves and the world, and a renewed sense of dedication and purpose to their coursework at Rutgers.
A Rutgers study abroad student and animator talks about how she turned her the boredom and loneliness of routine into a once-in-a-lifetime study abroad experience in this testimonial video.
In episode 2 of our spin-off podcast, Rutgers Around the World, Rutgers student Vanessa Herrera talks about her experiences as a study abroad student to Mexico and how it has directly carved a path for her career development.
