ABOUT THE SPEAKER 
Vassiliki Katrivanou is currently working for the integration of refugee children in Greek schools, as part of a collaboration between the Greek Ministry of Education and UNICEF. She has served as a member of the Greek Parliament (2012-2016) and as a member of the Parliamentary Committee of the  Council of Europe (2014-2016) with a focus on human rights. She has worked as a therapist, trainer, and facilitator in Process Oriented Psychology and Conflict Resolution in Greece, Cyprus, Palestine, Israel, Mexico, and the United States. She holds a bachelor’s in International Studies and a master’s in Conflict Resolution from Portland State University, as well as a master’s in Process Oriented Psychology from the Process Work Institute. She co-directed with Bushra Azzouz the documentary, Women of Cyprus (2009).

After Ms. Katrivanou’s presentation, a panel of students who participated in the Summer 2017 Study Abroad program, “Migrants and Refugees in the Eastern Mediterranean,” will share their experiences.
