There are four major airports accessible from Rutgers–New Brunswick and RBHS.
- John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
- LaGuardia Airport
- Newark Liberty International Airport
- Philadelphia International Airport
We suggest you fly into Newark Liberty International Airport. It is faster, less expensive, and easier to get to New Brunswick from the Newark airport than from the other area airports.
There are many options for ground transportation from the airport to campus, including car services (taxis, Lyft/Uber, private car service), shuttle buses, subways, and trains. Advanced reservation for airport van services are strongly suggested.
Students are also encouraged to download mobile map apps such as Apple or Google maps to help track their location, public bus and train schedules, and directions.
In the event of unavailable wifi or internet connect, students are encouraged to print/write down their address destination onto a paper and pack it in their carry-on. The address should be written in English.

Private Transportation Choices +
You can hire a private limousine, taxi at Ground Transportation at either JFK or Newark Airport, but we do not recommend you do this unless you are prepared to spend around $100 (or more) for the ride, depending on distance, time of day and level of service. (Taxis are generally used in the U.S. only to travel relatively short distances within a city, not to get from one city to another.) If you do choose to hire a private taxi, be sure to settle on a price with the driver before the ride. Tipping 15 percent is customary.
You can also request ridesharing services like Lyft or Uber. Fare from Newark International Airport to New Brunswick ranges $35-$100, depending on the time, availability, and car type. Fare from JFK Airport to New Brunswick begins at around $150 and can go up to $400 based on time, availability, and car type.
