GAIA Centers Seeking Marketing and Outreach Interns

The GAIA Centers are seeking applications for two marketing internship positions.


Mandela Washington Fellowship Social Media Intern
In June 2016, the GAIA Centers and partners will welcome 50 Mandela Washington Fellows (MWF) to Rutgers as part of President Obama's Young African Leadership Initiative. We are seeking students interested in pursuing careers in journalism or public relations to produce content and interact with our audiences using existing or new profiles on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social sites. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experiences shooting photos and writing social media content. Video experience is a plus. The internship begins on June 13, 2016, and ends in late July 2016.

Deadline to apply for the Mandela Washington Fellowship social media internship is May 20, 2016. To apply for this opportunity, please send a cover letter, resume, writing samples, and two photography samples to Johanna Bernstein, Administrative Director for the MWF Business and Entrepreneurship Institute, at with the subject line "MWF Social Media Internship" 

Study Abroad Marketing and Outreach Intern
The second opportunity is a great fit for full-time graduates and undergradutes who are interested in Rutgers' study abroad programs. Do you know your way around Rutgers–New Brunswick and  like to give speeches? Or know how to use Powerpoint, Photoshop, and various social platforms? Then, consider applying for a marketing and outreach internship position at the Center for Global Education at the GAIA Centers.The successful candidate will get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of how a large study aborad office operates, while they develop and implement a marketing plan for on-campus activities to increase awareness of study abroad programs.
