The Center for International Faculty and Student Services programs and services include
a comprehensive orientation prior to the fall semester designed to facilitate new students' adjustment to the United States and to Rutgers; a community-based International Friendship Program which gives students, university, and community residents the opportunity to get to know each other; a lecture series featuring faculty, staff, and students speaking on topics of international and cross-cultural interest; English language conversation groups; an international women's group which through weekly meetings and programs provides support to families from abroad; coordination of cross-cultural programs with student organizations, including the International Students Association and the International Student Affairs Committee of the Graduate Student Association; a speaker's bureau of international students and scholars; weekly workshops and seminars on employment benefits for nonimmigrant students and employees; individual counseling on immigration, cross-cultural, financial, health, and other personal matters; publication of handbooks for students and scholars and a quarterly newsletter; cross-cultural communication training programs for students and staff.
